Here's a shot of a project I've been working on for my man Pesa KD TNB WST. Pesa's outlines are usually the ones I dread working on the most due to all of the overlapping pieces and intricate connections. They are also among the most rewarding once completed. I agreed to help him out with this project of his a while back so I have to get it done. Next time I'll think twice...

Peer Pressure

I got pressured in to painting a few weeks back by some friends so I took an old outline thinking I could either freestyle something or rock a silver with the old sketch. When I started putting up the outline I had mixed feelings about it because, although it was coming out well, it still looked a little too familiar in my eyes. So I freestyled about half of the sketch (not something I usually like to do) along with most of the arrows and doodads. I then shot a photo and made a print on paper where I could make even more adjustments that I eventually made on the wall as well. This was the first time I've tried this type of workflow and I might try it again in the future.

Graff Canvas/Mixed Media Workshops

I'm going to run a four week workshop on mixed media graffiti canvases. I copied and pasted some info below for those who might be interested.


-Limited to 20 students so early enrollment is encouraged.

-First come first serve enrollment, however, must be able to commit and attend all four weeks of the workshop.

-Students will learn techniques for creating their own graffiti canvas or mixed media paintings. 1 - 16" x 20" Canvas will be provided for accepted and enrolled students.

-Some supplies will be provided but attendees are encouraged to bring their own supplies as well such as Paint Markers, Acrylics, Paint Brushes, Pencils, Erasers, Painters Masking Tape, exacto Knives, and old newsprint.

WST Spider Skate Deck and Tee

The shirt was produce by WST around 2002 or 2003. I started the skate board deck in spring of 2010 in the hopes of having it ready for the WST Art show in Eureka last April. Needless to say I didn't meet the deadline and this project was placed on the shelf for quite some time as I wasn't happy with the lack of pop on the fill. A few weeks ago I got my hands on an airbrush and I was finally able to add the contrast that I felt the fill needed. From there it was just a matter of hitting the outline again and fine lining in the webbing with metallic acrylic paint.
